Summertime in Michigan is here! It is time to start to enjoy AND beat the heat with some creative ways to keep you and your kids refreshed. One way you can do that is with homemade popsicles. Ever since I was a kid, a nice cool popsicle was perfect on hot summer day. So, why not try making homemade ones that are healthier, fun to do with kids, and tasty! My kids and I experimented with some recipes this week and I am excited to share what ones we tried below.

Some things to have on handy when making these recipes would be:

  • Popsicle molds
  • Paper cups (work fine if no popsicle molds on hand)
  • Toothpicks or popsicle sticks

Granola and Yogurt Breakfast Popsicles

Child eating popsicle Have you ever thought about eating a popsicle for breakfast? What if it was made from yogurt, berries, maple syrup, and granola? This recipe is the perfect combo for a fun breakfast for you or the kids or a great snack too! We did not get a chance to try this one – but it is on my list! It looks delicious and easy.

There are SO many other great recipes out there to try. Even outside of popsicles, you could turn some of the recipes into slushies with these same ingredients and a little crushed ice. So, go have fun, stay hydrated and refreshed with these yummy treats! It’s safe to say – you will all love this summer treat!
